I feel like it's worth saying somewhere, but I draw on the manga a LOT for how I play Gojo. For the most part, the manga and anime are almost identically close. But there are a couple manga-only things that are central to my characterization:
(spoilers)
-What happens to the jujutsu council higher-ups at the end of the manga. He references wanting to do this *early* in the anime & manga, it's easy to miss, but I think it's a fairly critical book-end in canon, that he carries wanting to do a massacre around with him.
-The entire strength is loneliness theme which gets played on so heavily at the end of the manga, with parallels between Sukuna and Gojo because of it. It helps me cope, a little, with Heading South, because at least in that he isn't lonely anymore. But I bring a lot of that immense loneliness into Gojo's characterization and it's key to how I understand him.
